Travis Osborne

Interim Youth Director

Travis serves part time as our interim youth director, helping to give vision and oversight to the development of leaders who serve the junior high and high school-age kids in our community.

At the age of 16, Travis was invited to a youth group by a friend…and his life has never been the same.  Through this youth group, Travis learned about God’s love for him and God’s love for the people of this world.  It was during Travis’ teenage years that God truly grabbed hold of his heart, and that is why he is passionate to reach out to other teenagers at such a crucial time in their lives.  He counts it a blessing to do for other teenagers what a handful of other godly adults did for him at that age.

After graduating from Simpson University in 1995 with a B.A. in Christian Education, Travis became a licensed and ordained pastor to high school students at The Grove Community Church in Riverside, California.  After 11 years as the youth pastor, Travis and his beautiful yet extremely competitive wife, Annette, moved their three children from Southern California to Felton in hopes that the environment would help their two young boys who were struggling severely with asthma.

Travis’s dreams of wearing an apron to work have been fulfilled as he is currently employed at the Starbucks in Scotts Valley.  He enjoys snowboarding, volleyball, and wrestling with his three children.  Travis played baseball in high school and college, and if it wasn’t for his lack of talent, he would be in the Major Leagues right now.  Travis considers himself very similar to Dan Kimball and Josh Fox…although he hasn’t written any books or recorded any CD’s, he does occasionally read and just recently learned how to download music to his iPod.

Travis and Annette are thankful for the opportunity to lead the ministry to teenagers at the local church they have grown to love.  They look forward to coming alongside parents as they raise their children to love and follow Jesus Christ while inviting others to do the same.
