Nursery

What gifts/talents/skills are needed in this ministry?

  • Have a loving and tender heart towards children
  • Common sense to be able to recognize and respond to the special needs of infants.

 What are the responsibilities of this leader?   

  • Arrive 30 min. early to help set up and pray together as a team.   
  • Be helpful and friendly while greeting parents and checking in babies. 
  • Be attentive to the physical and emotional needs of the child.   
  • Be responsive to these needs by changing, feeding, holding, rocking and talking to the child.   
  • Pray for the children while you are with them and throughout the week.

Toddler Teacher

What gifts/talents/skills are needed in this ministry? 

  • Patience and love for children   
  • Tender heart to form relationships and play with little ones   
  • Wisdom to encourage them through this stage of life.What are the responsibilities of this leader?  
  • Arrive 30 min. early to help set up and pray together as a team.   
  • Be helpful and friendly while greeting parents and checking in toddlers   
  • Be attentive to the physical and emotional needs of the child and dangers that meet this particular age group.   
  • Not simply babysitting the children in your care, but initiating age-appropriate conversation about Biblical Truths.   
  • Pray for the children while you are with them and throughout the week.

Preschool Teacher

What gifts/talents/skills are needed in this ministry?   

  • Excitement for teaching kids about God, patience and love for children.   
  • Tender heart to form relationships and play with little ones   
  • Wisdom to encourage them through this stage of life.   
  • The ability (or desire to learn how to!) organize groups of children that allow them to learn from God's Word in ways that are appropriate for their age.

What are the responsibilities of this leader?   

  • Arrive 30 min. early to help set up, review the lesson and pray together as a team.   
  • Be helpful and friendly while greeting parents and checking in preschoolers   
  • Be attentive to the physical and emotional needs of the child.   
  • Partner with another teacher to lead the class using the suggested agenda and lesson as a guide. This includes playing, story, craft, circle time lesson, music and snack.   
  • Be attentive to the needs and/or dangers that meet this particular age group by keeping them always within sight; forming lasting relationships with the kids that model the love of God; and finding out about their families, strengths, concerns.  
  • Pray for the children while you are with them and throughout the week.

Elementary Teacher

What gifts/talents/skills are needed in this ministry?   

  • The desire to use their personal passions and skills to teach kids Biblical Truths.   
  • The ability to teach a small group of kids a lesson from a lesson using a specific theme such as art, science, cooking, music, drama, games or any other mode of teaching!

What are the responsibilities of this leader?

  •  Arrive 30 min. early to connect with the class mentor and pray together as a team.   
  • Review provided curriculum and be prepared to teach or work with the children's director to prepare your own lesson!  
  • Work with the children's director to alter the curriculum as needed after each week, making sure that it is age appropriate and effective.

Family Greeter

The greeter is a representative of children's ministry who should be available to answer any questions or direct families to the classroom. Often times, this person will be the first representative of Vintage Faith that visitors meet.

What gifts/talents/skills are needed in this ministry?   

  • Relational   
  • Able to retain and communicate information about the ministry.What are the responsibilities of this team member?   
  • Arrive 30 min. early to set up the table in the children's building.   
  • Make contact with visitors, explaining program and answering any questions.   
  • Work alongside the Children's Director in recruiting new volunteers and answering questions from prospective volunteers.   
  • Be a helpful and supportive presence in the entryway as families are looking to you for the tone of the day   
  • Be at the table for 15 minutes following the worship gathering   
  • Put away the table information and decorations following the gathering.
